We've Got More To Do
For two of our climate champions, there’s still one more election ahead.
Remember how we felt the evening of November 5, 2024? Tuesday was kind of the opposite of that — and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
In a lot of ways, the results speak for themselves. In Virginia, all 22 of our endorsed climate champions won their races — including 9 flips in the House of Delegates. Pennsylvania elected all 7 JanePAC candidates on the ballot, which included winning control of the Luzerne County Council — a body that had a 10-1 Republican majority as recently as four years ago.
We racked up major victories in states ranging from Colorado to Georgia; Ohio to Mississippi; Washington to Arizona. All we can say is thank you — because your support for our movement is what made these wins possible. We’re basking in the joy and hope of it all — believe us — but there’s (always) more to do.
On election night, two of our 2025 endorsed candidates advanced to runoffs; that means it’s time to double-down and bring it home.
We’ve got more to do for Christian Menefee (Texas) and James Solomon (New Jersey).
Christian Menefee, candidate for Congress (TX-18), was raised in a community battered by industrial pollution. He’s delivered on climate throughout his career: securing major emissions cuts, expanded solar access, and reduced pollution. He’s also litigated against Big Oil (and won) time and again. The fight for clean air and a thriving planet is personal for Christian, and we need that passion in DC.
James Solomon, candidate for Mayor (Jersey City, NJ), is an environmental policy professor and City Councilmember who’s made standing up to corrupt corporate interests in defense of our planet the cornerstone of his career. As Mayor, he’ll fight back against the wasteful NJ Turnpike expansion, deliver green spaces and affordable housing for Jersey City residents all across the city, and stand up to the corrupt machine politics that have defined New Jersey for decades.
Look, we’re tired (in part from celebrating so very hard), but we can’t let these two races slip from our grasp — especially when victory is so damn close. Can we count on you to split a donation to Christian and James today?
We’re proud to be in this fight with you. Let’s win two more, shall we?
