On January 7, JanePAC candidate Kannan Srinivasan won his special election to Virginia’s state senate — granting Democrats a majority in the state legislature.
Within just three weeks of that victory, Dems used their majority to pass constitutional amendments on abortion access, marriage equality and voting rights. The amendments have hurdles ahead, no doubt, but the Virginia legislature is doing what Americans elected them to do, they’re doing it fast, and it was a JanePAC candidate who made the difference.
We *know* it's all feeling like too much right now. But guess what? Down ballot seats like Kannan's are exactly the below-the-radar, climate critical races we have to win if we want to protect our communities not just from the looming threat of climate crisis, but from the chaos unfolding in our federal government, as well.
"Local" is the key to making it through this tumultuous moment, and local is exactly where JanePAC is making moves. Will you join us in this fight to put good people in the right seats to fight back? Chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can.
