Fearless and Gaining Ground: Chris Rabb’s Climate-First Path to Congress
JanePAC climate champion Chris Rabb is on the rise in his bid for Congress in Philadelphia
We all know Philadelphia as the home of cheesesteaks, the Liberty Bell, and the Rocky statue. But you might not know that the City of Brotherly Love also happens to be home to the bluest congressional district in the nation.
You read that right.
The bluest congressional district in the entire country isn’t in California. It’s PA-03 in the heart of Philly. And right now there’s a fiercely contested primary unfolding for a seat that hasn’t been open in 35 years — again, you read that right.
In cases like this, where we know a Democrat will win, we can laser focus on the kind of Democrat. Like we always say, it’s not “vote blue no matter who,” it’s “vote planet, always.”
Mother Earth’s been down on her luck as of late, but there’s a winning streak in her future because fearless, unbought, and climate-savvy Chris Rabb is a frontrunner in the race to lead PA-03.
Chris was a founding member of the Climate Caucus in the Pennsylvania legislature, consistently pushing bold climate legislation — including bills to prohibit corporations from using deceptive “greenwashing” tactics, and imposing taxes on greenhouse emissions from corporate polluters.
But it’s not just his voting record or his legislative wins that make Chris Rabb the obvious “vote planet” candidate. He’s also an incredibly passionate leader, with the moral courage it takes to confront Big Industry, Big Polluters, and big bankrollers.
Speaking of bankrollers and bad actors: Chris is running against establishment Democrats who’ve gotten mighty cozy with Big Oil and billionaire megadonors.
As the “outsider” with a heart for clean air and water, he’s in the crosshairs of wealthy special interests. In fact, a super PAC dropped more than $2 million into his opponent’s coffers in recent weeks. But if we’ve learned anything from our time fighting for our planet, we know that people-powered will always win, and Chris is running a true people-powered campaign.
Support is coalescing around him, with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announcing her support this week; and the paper of record, the Philadelphia Inquirer, releasing their endorsement last week. Here’s what the Inquirer’s editorial board wrote about Chris:
“From the Iran war to healthcare, from climate to affordability, and from housing to immigration, Rabb has consistently offered the boldest and most ambitious leadership. He also has a welcome history of working outside the local Democratic machine. While his rivals tout big endorsements, Rabb has always relied on persuading voters. That’s a welcome change from business as usual in Philadelphia.”
His must-win primary is on May 19, 2026 so time is short, but momentum is building. Now is the time for us to rally around a true champion for people and the planet in PA-03. No matter where you live, vote, or fight for our future: there’s a role for you to play in this people-powered fight to send a planet candidate to Congress.
